Bone Doctor Shoulder Case Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last few hours playing Bone Doctor Shoulder Case and I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. I mean, the title alone had me curious - what kind of game is this? Is it some kind of medical simulator or a weirdly specific puzzle game? As it turns out, it's a bit of both, but not really in a good way. The game puts you in the role of a doctor who has to diagnose and treat patients with shoulder injuries, which sounds like it could be educational or even interesting, but the execution is just so lacking.
The gameplay is pretty straightforward - you examine the patient, take some notes, and then decide on a course of treatment. The problem is that it all feels so simplistic and shallow. You're not really making any tough decisions or using any real medical knowledge - it's all just a series of obvious yes or no questions and multiple choice answers. And don't even get me started on the graphics and sound design, which are basically non-existent. The patients are just generic character models with no real personality or backstory, and the sound effects are just a bunch of generic beeps and boops.
I will say that the game does try to mix things up a bit by throwing in some weird and wacky cases - like a patient who claims to have a giant spider living in their shoulder or something. But even those are just kind of annoying and feel like they're trying too hard to be quirky and interesting. And the writing is just so cringeworthy at times - the patients all sound like they're reading from a bad script and the doctor's notes are just a bunch of poorly written medical jargon. It's all just so amateurish and unpolished.
As a gamer, I'm used to playing games that challenge me or immerse me in a virtual world, and Bone Doctor Shoulder Case just doesn't deliver on either of those fronts. It's not really a game, per se - it's more like a glorified educational tool or a weird novelty item. And even then, it's not like it's particularly good at teaching you anything about medicine or the human body. I mean, I learned more about the human shoulder from a 5-minute Wikipedia article than I did from playing this game for hours.
One thing I will say is that the game does have a certain weird charm to it - it's like one of those "so bad it's good" kind of experiences that you might play with a group of friends just to laugh at how bad it is. But as a serious game, it's just not worth playing. Unless you're really into medical simulators or something, I'd say skip this one and play something else. There are plenty of better games out there that are actually worth your time.
Overall, I'd say Bone Doctor Shoulder Case is a disappointing and unimpressive game that fails to deliver on its promises. It's not really a game, it's not really educational, and it's not even particularly fun. Unless the developers go back to the drawing board and completely overhaul the game, I'd say it's not worth playing. But hey, if you're feeling adventurous and want to try something weird and different, I suppose it might be worth a laugh or two. Just don't say I didn't warn you.
