Cooking Korean Lessons Review & Gameplay Guide
I've gotta say, I was a bit skeptical when I stumbled upon Cooking Korean Lessons. I mean, I've played my fair share of cooking games before, and they usually end up being pretty cheesy and lacking in actual cooking skills. But, I've been getting really into Korean food lately, so I figured I'd give it a shot. The game starts off with a pretty basic tutorial, teaching you how to make some simple Korean dishes like bibimbap and bulgogi. The controls are pretty intuitive, and the graphics are actually pretty nice - the food looks super appetizing, which is pretty important for a cooking game.
As I got further into the game, I started to realize that it's actually a lot more in-depth than I was expecting. The game covers a wide range of Korean dishes, from soups to noodle dishes to desserts, and each one has its own unique ingredients and cooking techniques. The game also does a great job of explaining the cultural context behind each dish, which I found really fascinating. I've always been interested in learning more about Korean culture, and this game definitely helped me do that. Plus, the recipes are all pretty authentic, which is great for anyone who's actually trying to learn how to cook Korean food.
One thing that I was a bit disappointed with was the lack of creativity in the game. Once you've learned the recipes, there's not really much room for experimentation or improvisation. I mean, I get it, the game is called Cooking Korean Lessons, not Cooking Korean Sandbox or whatever. But still, it would be nice to have a bit more freedom to try out new things and see what works. That being said, the game does have a pretty robust recipe book, and you can easily go back and replay levels to try out new ingredients or techniques.
I've been playing the game for a few hours now, and I've gotta say, I'm actually really enjoying it. The levels get progressively harder, but not so hard that they're frustrating. And, the sense of satisfaction you get from completing a level and making a delicious-looking dish is pretty great. I've even started trying out some of the recipes in real life, which is definitely a first for me with a cooking game. The game also has a pretty chill soundtrack, which is great for relaxing and focusing on your cooking.
One thing that I'm not sure about is the replay value. Like I said, once you've completed all the levels and learned all the recipes, there's not really much else to do. There are some bonus levels and challenges, but they're not really enough to keep you playing for hours on end. That being said, I think the game is definitely worth playing through at least once, especially if you're interested in Korean food or culture. And, who knows, maybe the developers will add some new content or features in the future to keep things fresh.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend Cooking Korean Lessons to anyone who's interested in cooking games or Korean culture. It's a solid game that's definitely taught me a thing or two about cooking, and it's been a lot of fun to play. Just don't expect it to be a super complex or challenging game, and you'll be good to go. I'm looking forward to seeing what other games the developers come out with in the future, and I'm definitely going to keep playing this one until I've mastered all the recipes.
