Doll Doll Review & Gameplay Guide
I just finished playing through Doll Doll and I have to say, it's been a wild ride. I went into this game not really knowing what to expect - the trailer looked kinda weird, but also kinda cool, you know? It's one of those games that's hard to describe, but I'll try my best to give you an idea of what it's all about. Basically, you play as this little doll thing that has to navigate through these surreal levels, solving puzzles and avoiding enemies. Sounds simple, but trust me, it's not.
The first thing that struck me about Doll Doll is the atmosphere. The game has this super creepy, unsettling vibe that's really well done. The levels are all these twisted, distorted versions of childhood memories, like a funhouse mirror reflection of a kid's playroom. It's really effective at making you feel uncomfortable, which I guess is the point. The sound design is also top-notch - the sound effects and music are all really unnerving and add to the overall sense of unease.
Now, the gameplay itself is pretty solid. The puzzles are challenging, but not so hard that they're frustrating. I mean, there were a few times where I got stuck, but it was always because I was being dumb, not because the game was being unfair. The controls are also really tight, which is important because you need to be able to move quickly to avoid getting caught by the enemies. Speaking of which, the enemies are pretty cool - they're all these twisted, doll-like creatures that are really creepy. They're not too hard to avoid, but they're definitely a threat if you're not paying attention.
One thing that I didn't love about Doll Doll is the length. I mean, it's a pretty short game - I finished it in like 5 hours or something. Now, I know some people might say that's a good thing, that it's better to have a shorter, more focused game than a longer, more bloated one. And I get that. But for me, I just wanted more. I was really enjoying the game, and then suddenly it was over. I felt like there was still so much more to explore, so many more secrets to uncover. Maybe that's just me, though.
Despite the short length, I would still definitely recommend Doll Doll to anyone who's a fan of creepy, atmospheric games. It's not for everyone, I know - some people might find it too weird or too scary. But if you're looking for something that's a little different, a little off the beaten path, then Doll Doll might be the game for you. Just be prepared for a wild ride, because this game is not afraid to get weird. And also, be prepared for it to be over way too soon, because like I said, it's a pretty short game.
Overall, I'm really glad I played Doll Doll. It's a game that's really stuck with me, even after I finished playing it. I keep thinking about the levels, the enemies, the puzzles - it's all really well done. If you're a fan of games like Silent Hill or Amnesia, then you'll probably love Doll Doll. And even if you're not, it's still worth checking out, just to see what all the fuss is about. Just don't expect it to last you forever, because like I said, it's a pretty short game.
