Finger Soccer : Footbal Game Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last hour playing Finger Soccer, and I've got to say, it's a pretty mixed bag. On the one hand, I love the idea of a simple, casual soccer game that I can play on my phone whenever I've got a few minutes to spare. The graphics are actually pretty nice, too - the fields and players look decent, and the animation is smooth. But on the other hand, the gameplay is just so... basic. I mean, it's basically just a matter of swiping your finger to kick the ball, and it gets old pretty fast.
One thing that really bugs me about Finger Soccer is the lack of depth. There are no real teams to speak of, just a bunch of generic players with different stats. And don't even get me started on the AI - the computer-controlled players are just so easy to beat, it's almost not even worth playing. I mean, I've played games where I've scored like five goals in a row without the other team even getting a chance to touch the ball. It's just not challenging at all. And the sound effects are pretty cheesy, too - the crowd noises and commentary are just so over-the-top and annoying.
Despite all my complaints, though, I do have to admit that Finger Soccer can be kind of fun in short bursts. It's the kind of game that's perfect for playing while you're waiting in line or something, just because it's so mindless and easy to pick up. And the controls are actually pretty responsive, which is nice. But if you're looking for a real soccer game with strategy and depth, this is definitely not the game for you. I mean, I've played games like FIFA and PES that are just so much better in every way - they've got real teams, real players, and real gameplay.
I also wish that Finger Soccer had some kind of multiplayer mode, or at least some kind of way to compete with other players. As it is, it's just a single-player game with a bunch of bland, unremarkable modes. You can play a quick match, or a tournament, or a "league" mode, but they all feel pretty much the same. And there are no real rewards for winning, either - you just get a bunch of boring old trophies and achievements that don't really mean anything. It's just not very satisfying, you know?
I guess what I'm trying to say is that Finger Soccer is a pretty average game. It's not terrible, but it's not great, either. If you're a huge soccer fan, you might get some enjoyment out of it, but for the rest of us, it's just not worth the time. I mean, there are so many better games out there - games that are more challenging, more realistic, and just more fun to play. So unless you're really desperate for a soccer fix, I'd say skip Finger Soccer and look for something else.
Overall, I'd give Finger Soccer like two and a half stars out of five. It's just a pretty mediocre game that doesn't really do anything to stand out from the crowd. The graphics are nice, and the controls are okay, but the gameplay is just so shallow and boring. And the lack of multiplayer or any real competition just makes it feel like a waste of time. So yeah, I'd say avoid Finger Soccer unless you're really into casual, mindless games. There are just better options out there.
