Going Balls 3D Review & Gameplay Guide
I just spent the last hour playing Going Balls 3D and I've got to say, it's a real mixed bag. On the one hand, the gameplay is ridiculously simple - you control a ball that's rolling down a track, and you've got to tap the screen to jump over obstacles. It's the kind of thing that's easy to pick up, but hard to master, which is always a good formula for a mobile game. The graphics are also pretty slick, with a futuristic aesthetic that looks great on my phone.
But on the other hand, the game gets repetitive really quickly. I mean, you're doing the same thing over and over again - rolling down the track, jumping over obstacles, rinse and repeat. There aren't really any power-ups or surprises to mix things up, so it starts to feel like you're just going through the motions after a while. And the levels are all pretty short, so you'll find yourself playing the same level over and over again as you try to beat your high score.
One thing that's kind of annoying is the ads. I get it, the game is free, so the developers need to make money somehow. But it feels like every time you die, you're getting hit with another ad. It's not just a quick banner ad, either - it's a full-on video ad that you've got to sit through before you can get back to playing. And sometimes, the ads are actually longer than the levels themselves, which is just ridiculous. I'm not asking for much, just maybe a way to pay a few bucks to get rid of the ads altogether.
Despite all my complaints, though, I've got to admit that Going Balls 3D is still pretty addictive. There's something about the simple gameplay and the satisfying feeling of beating your high score that just keeps you coming back for more. And the game does have a certain charm to it, with its futuristic soundtrack and sleek graphics. It's not the most complex or challenging game out there, but it's a good way to kill a few minutes when you're bored.
I'm not sure if I'd recommend Going Balls 3D to everyone, but if you're a fan of simple, casual games, you might get a kick out of it. Just be prepared for the repetition and the ads, and you'll be fine. And who knows, you might even find yourself getting sucked in and playing for hours on end. I know I did, even though I was complaining about it the whole time. It's just one of those games that's easy to play, but hard to put down.
Overall, Going Balls 3D is a solid, if unremarkable, mobile game. It's not going to win any awards for originality or complexity, but it's a good way to pass the time. And hey, it's free, so you can't really complain. If you're looking for something to play on your commute or during your lunch break, you could do worse than Going Balls 3D. Just don't say I didn't warn you about the ads.
