I just finished playing Happy Corals and I've got to say, it's been a wild ride. I mean, I've seen some weird games in my time, but this one takes the cake. You play as a tiny fish who's trying to make the coral reef a happier place, which sounds super cheesy, but trust me, it's actually kind of cool. The graphics are really colorful and vibrant, which fits perfectly with the whole underwater theme. The music is also pretty catchy, I found myself humming along to the tunes as I played.
The gameplay is pretty simple, you just swim around and collect these little orbs that make the coral grow and flourish. It sounds easy, but it can get pretty challenging, especially when you've got other fish trying to steal your orbs. There are also these big scary sharks that try to eat you, which can be kind of intense. But overall, the gameplay is pretty relaxing, it's one of those games that you can just chill out and play for hours. I found myself getting lost in the game, just swimming around and collecting orbs, it was really calming.
One thing that I didn't like about the game was the lack of variety in the levels. I mean, it's all just the same old coral reef, over and over again. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful coral reef, but after a while, it starts to get a bit repetitive. I wish they had included some different environments, like a shipwreck or a sunken city, just to mix things up a bit. The levels also get kind of samey, you're just doing the same things over and over again, collecting orbs and avoiding sharks. It's not a huge deal, but it would be nice to see some more variety in the levels.
I've also got to say, the controls can be a bit finicky at times. The game uses a sort of floaty, loose control system, which can be kind of hard to get used to. Sometimes I'd try to swim in one direction, but my fish would just kind of drift off in another direction. It's not a huge deal, but it can be kind of frustrating, especially when you're trying to avoid those sharks. But overall, the controls are pretty good, it's just something to get used to.
Despite the lack of variety in the levels and the occasionally finicky controls, I've really enjoyed playing Happy Corals. It's just one of those games that's fun to play, you know? It's not too complicated, it's just a simple, fun game that you can play to relax. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for a casual, easy-going game. It's not going to win any awards for game of the year or anything, but it's just a fun little game that's worth checking out.
